While driving home yesterday, I noticed a billboard for the premier of the Big Canoe Fine Art Show.   I’m not 100% certain, but I believe the art show is being hosted by the developer’s real estate company – Big Canoe Realty.  The show is to be hosted in one of the custom-built Dan DeJiacomo homes located in the Wildcat Neighborhood.  The show is scheduled to run from June 6, 2009 to July 19, 2009 on Wednesdays through Sundays from 10-4.  Admission is free.

I’m really looking forward to this event, and I absolutely love the work of Nnamdi Okonkwo.  Read more about his work on his website at http://www.nnamdiart.com/index.html.  And while you’re in the area, if you’re interested in looking at some Big Canoe homes for sale, feel free to give me a call!

Here are some of the artists that will be featured:

  • Afro Celotto
  • Orbix Hot Glass
  • Bear Creek Glass
  • Sedberry Pottery

Many Big Canoe Homes for Sale, Increase in Buyer Activity

May 27, 2009 by admin · Leave a Comment

I just wanted to give a quick update on the local Big Canoe real estate market.  While there are quite a few Big Canoe homes for sale (277 listed  on FMLS recently), there has also been a noticeable increase in people looking at homes.  I can’t speak for every agent, but we’ve had quite a few calls and inquiries from prospective home buyers.   A few of these leads were from referrals from previous clients (thank you!), but most came from our websites for North Georgia real estate.

This past weekend was very busy showing homes for sale all over Big Canoe.   The price range that most of these folks are working in is between $350,000 and $600,000.    Buyers seem to know to what they want which makes my job as a real estate agent much easier – when buyers tell me they want a mountain or lake view, it really narrows down the list of potential homes.

I also had several interested parties for leases here in Big Canoe over the weekend.  Most of these folks were looking for a 6-12 month lease in the $1000-$2000 / month range.  While there are only a handful of advertised leases in Big Canoe and the surrounding North Georgia communities such as Bent Tree, many home sellers will entertain the possibility of leasing.

That’s my quick summary of the late Spring early Summer real estate activity.  Hope the increased interest and activity in local real estate continues!

Fantastic Big Canoe Lot, Close to Gate and Mountain Views

Mountain View

Looking for a Big Canoe lot featuring mountain views and close proximity to the North Gate?  3344 Wildcat Trail is a gently sloping 1 acre lot in the Wildcat section of the Big Canoe Community.  This 60 mile Eastern view will greet you in the morning while you sip coffee on your back deck or screened porch and shade you in the afternoon while grilling up some fresh trout from Lake Petit. The rolling acres of the Wildcat Neighborhood are etched with several miles of walking and biking trails, many of them paved. The homes in Wildcat range in style from Craftsman to Old World Timberframe, and have stricter building codes than other neighborhoods in Big Canoe. Many remember the 2005 Street of Dreams in Big Canoe on White Aster Lane. Well, Wildcat has since expanded and the Big Canoe homes  for sale  that are popping up are strikingly beautiful in this peaceful mountain setting. Only select builders are permitted in this section. Please feel free to contact me regarding any building information.

3344 Wildcat Trail is a unique lot in that it has nearly level grade gently sloping down to the back of the lot with a big view off the back. A lot like this is truly desirable because it provides for a level driveway and saves tens of thousands of dollars in foundation costs. Gardeners will love this lot because of it’s park-like setting. Many hardwoods surround this lot providing exceptional fall color and summer shade.

Whether you plan to work from home, commute, or simply retire in Big Canoe, this lot is worthy of your dream home. Call me to see this lot. I know it well and have plenty of pictures to email you!

Living close to Atlanta  definitely has it’s advantages. My newest listing is located at 2051 Ferentz Trace in Norcross, Georgia. This end unit has 3 bedrooms and 2.5 baths with a very private meadow view. Newly constructed in 2006 this North Atlanta townhouse for sale has all the current bells and whistles.
